Vash the Stampede

Well, well, well, looks like the Humanoid Typhoon has swept up another unfortunate soul. Hope you’ve got some good cardio, because with the Vash, you’re almost always on the run.

Ever since you came into his life, keeping you safe has been Vash’s top priority. Frequently shoves you out of the way of any potential danger (and has definitely taken a bullet for you more than once). Because of his tendency to prioritize your safety (and the safety of others), Vash suffers many injuries, but always attempts to play them off as nothing.

Vash is incredibly insecure about his scars, so early in the relationship, it’s unlikely he’ll let you tend to his wounds. When he does eventually allow you to take care of him, Vash tries cracking jokes the whole time (most of them at his own expense). Be gentle and reassuring- he doesn’t trust just anyone with seeing him like this

Frequenting saloons is one of Vash’s favorite past-times. Just don’t try to keep up with him during drinking games. You will lose. Whether you’re his drinking buddy or designated sober companion, Vash just appreciates your company.

Vash is big on giving/receiving verbal and physical affection. Doesn’t need to be anything big either- ruffling his hair or a whispered “good job out there” is enough to fluster him beyond belief. On the flip side, Vash loves giving you hugs, or throwing an arm over your shoulders- he’s also very open in complimenting/praising you. He’s all about spreading the love, after all.

Bless his heart, Vash is so easily distracted. Be it someone in need, or something shiny, Vash is all over the place. Keeping up can be a struggle, but rest assured, he never leaves you behind.

Of course, his pacifist ideals, while noble, can cause tension- especially when he all-too-easily forgives someone who was just trying to hurt him or someone else. This will probably be the thing that causes the most friction in your relationship. Vash is always quick to apologize to clear the air, and does genuinely try to balance your safety with his ideals, but communication, especially in the beginning, may be a bit rocky, since he has the tendency to shut down in the face of negativity.

Vash is incredibly playful, and enjoys being able to joke around with you. In his opinon, having your own little inside jokes is top-tier intimacy. Seeing your smile and hearing your laughter are what keep Vash going most days.

Despite his cheerful demeanor, Vash's smiles are almost always hollow and.. Sad. You're one of the few able to discern his empty smiles from the genuine ones

With all the chaos and danger that follows him, Vash is painfully aware of how you could be taken from him at any moment. He makes sure to tell you every day how grateful he is that you’ve decided to stay in his life.

actually always thinking of darth vader through a transgender lense bc i’m insane but also bc it is SO EASY to do a trans reading of his whole deal like to me, personally, in the star wars in my brain that is better than yours and doesn’t gaf about authorial intent, darth vader is in part a manifestation/personification of the horrifying feelings of loss of control that come with long-term repression/closeting or forced detransition. and this works on a purely superficial level because darth vader is hypermasculine in a way that starkly contrasts a lot of anakin’s softer/more androgynous traits but if we are to actually think beyond the superficial the themes of loss of autonomy and rejection of personal identity in favor of one given to you are veryyyy resonant from a trans perspective. constant insistent rejection of your true self. “that name no longer has any meaning to me.” even his voice is not his own. etc etc. vader is a reinvention of anakin but that reinvention is into an empty husk whose entire existence is to be another person’s pawn. vader is not so much a new identity as he is a lack of one. and i don’t want to dismiss that on a literal textual level disability is a part of the Body aspect but all this is far less about his injuries and part more about how they’re treated, specifically how his body is altered in ways that are entirely about creating a more imposing image and basically turning him into a weapon (there is no reason for him to be 6’7), and that again ties into the idea of Erosion Of Self. and i think these aspects come together in a way that is so easy to read as trans, or at least that resonates with me as a trans person, because so much of repressing as a trans person is inventing an empty version of yourself and accepting your physical state as something you are fundamentally not in control of and self-denial for others. and vader encompasses a lot of those feelings taken to body horror space opera extremes

Why is Hera so hostile to Leto in a manner that she isn't with the other lovers of Zeus? I can't think of any other woman who was targeted so much by Hera. One could say she didn't want Leto to give birth because her children would be a competition to Hera's children, but why bother her even after she had already given birth? Is it because Leto herself is also a threat to Hera?

I don't think Leto would ever be a threat to Hera's role as the queen of the gods but Hera might see her as a competitor for Zeus' affection, even though I think Zeus would not marry someone else and replace Hera.

The twins are definitely a big reason why Hera begrudged Leto - it is outright stated in the Callimachus Hymn to Delos that the reason Hera especially targeted Leto was because she was told that Apollo would be dearer to Zeus than Ares is. Zeus is very proud of Artemis as well. As he himself puts it, he doesn't mind facing Hera's wrath for children like her.

But the continued hatred even after the birth of the twins (like sending Tityus to rape Leto) could have been for different reasons. This wasn't like one of those affairs Zeus would have with mortal women where he'd leave them behind once the child is conceived. Neither could Hera, despite her many attempts, get rid of Leto like she did with the other lovers. Not only did Leto give Zeus children that he loves dearly, she also stayed on Olympus despite Hera's hatred towards her (which isn't directed to any of Zeus' other divine mistresses, btw). It might have also been because Leto herself is dear to Zeus, if the way she's treated on Olympus is any proof. In the Homeric hymn to Apollo, Leto stands next to Zeus - in the Olympian assembly - to welcome their son. Hera is completely absent from the scene, as if Leto had taken her place even if temporarily. Now you could say this is because Apollo himself is such a powerful and glorious son in a way that no other son of Zeus is, so of course Leto would get such an honor (the hymn itself presents it this way).

But here's another instance - in the Iliad, when Hera goes to seduce Zeus, he is obviously very smitten but before getting into the action, he lists some of his lovers (I believe these were his favorite lovers, as a lot of others are not mentioned):

"for never has such desire for goddess or mortal woman so gripped and overwhelmed my heart, not even when I was seized by love for Ixion’s wife, who gave birth to Peirithous the gods’ rival in wisdom; or for Acrisius’ daughter, slim-ankled Danaë, who bore Perseus, greatest of warriors; or for the far-famed daughter of Phoenix, who gave me Minos and godlike Rhadamanthus; or for Semele mother of Dionysus, who brings men joy; or for Alcmene at Thebes, whose son was lion-hearted Heracles; or for Demeter of the lovely tresses; or for glorious Leto; or even for you yourself, as this love and sweet desire for you grips me now.’ (Book 14, trans. A. T. Murray)

Notice how when talking about most of them, he also mentions the children they bore to him but when Demeter and Leto are mentioned, he doesn't bring up their children at all despite them being some of the most accomplished kids of his. What's more, he takes Leto's name just before Hera's. I mean, this is an interpretation but it looks like not only did Zeus love Leto the most out of all his mistresses - giving her a place second to that of his wife, but also his love for her wasn't necessarily only because she gave him two amazing children.

Nonnus does something similar in the Dionysiaca (but this time Zeus is enamored with Persephone instead of Hera) but more notably, when Typhoeus attacks Olympus and Zeus is discouraged, Nike takes the form of Leto to encourage him and it's pretty telling of what Leto meant to Zeus.

One interesting similarity between Hera and Leto is that they both had a giant try to rape them. Porphyrion tried to violate Hera (Zeus inspired him to do this) and Tityus tried to violate Leto (upon Hera's order). Though both of them were killed, only Tityus got an eternal punishment in Tartarus of having his liver/heart eaten out by vultures so Zeus seems to have taken a greater offense at Tityus trying to assault Leto.

Again, I don't think Zeus would ever take anyone other than Hera as his permanent wife - she is irreplaceable to him. There's an entire myth about Hera leaving him and Zeus winning her back. Their relationship is obviously complex and involves all kinds of emotions including love and hate. But Leto is continually dear to him as well and that's something Hera can't do much about.

I think the main appeal of Sentirachnid to me is just they match eachother's freak, there's just something so interestingly endearing about ships with dynamics like that. Especially that of villains, at first glance they might seem to have that classic tired employee, self centric boss but when you really look at it they do have quite a lot in common they both seem to have a dislike for the Primes, they both show active pleasure in causing harm to others for their amusement. They seem to be friends too, granted Sentinel does act pretty casual with everyone that's just part of his personality but I got the feeling they are kind of close she knew all of his secrets and he trusted her enough to know there was absolutely no risk of her telling anyone or even attempting to double cross him. Granted his reaction to the footage was because of the shock of being exposed but I wonder if a part of him was surprised Elita managed to overpower Airachnid he didn't expect her to lose or betray him so that also could've contributed to that shock doubled down to losing the love he fabricated from the masses under false pretense.

Plus for some reason or another she is kinda loyal to him? She was fighting tooth and nail to try and keep him alive, and for some reason he doesn't really seem to be that into fighting unless he absolutely had to when he was cornered too, he just relies on her and the trackers to keep him safe. She was the only Cybertronian who to our knowledge knew everything about his actions and still helped him, if you don't count the drones, they likely conspired everything together, she might have been a high ranking warrior even during the Quintesson war since she was very easily able to overpower a lot of the high guards.

Their dynamic low-key reminds me of GuitarSpear another ship I love because of the dynamic , speaking of dynamics I like to believe these two had the complete opposite dynamic TFA Sentinel and Blackarachnia/Elita did, TFO Sentinel saw Airachnid and instead of thinking she's freaky and disgusting for being herself he actually liked that about her. I like to believe that was partially how he got her to join his side offered her a position and status that suited her unique abilities the Prime didn't.

Their relationship is basically freak x freak, aka two freaks who understand eachother's freak and love the other for it, I do ship them but it doesn't necessarily have to be in a romantic light their relationship is interesting platonically too. It's two horribly messed up people and that one homie that they can share eachother's messed up hobbies with knowing they wouldn't judge but would instead want to join in because they share the same sense of dark humor.

Sentinel being a narcissistic boyfailure he is and somehow managing to get the spider goth girl's interest is funny though. I wonder how they met lol. Her expressions when he talks made it feel like she's been through his overly charismatic monologues about himself so many times, truly yapper x listener dynamic.

Imo she's the one who has the pants in their relationship though just saying 🙅🏼‍♀️.

so we’re all aware that BioWare cleaned up the crows in Veilguard, from ruthless assassins who kidnap recruits to unsung heroes of Antiva. So the way I have managed to justify this to myself is they’re Like That Now entirely cause of Zevran.

Zevran wreaked so much havoc on the crow establishment they were just like “okay we’ll be nicer.” They’re nicer to fledglings now cause Zevran will come the fuck after them if they aren’t. If Zevran gets to leave the Crows for a hot recently widowed city elf, everyone can leave whenever they want. Zevran used the power of love (and incredible violence) to reform the crows.

Ik i talk a lot about the negatives in Error and Ink's relationship (mostly bc all I ever see are positives and that makes me sick) but have some silly hcs:

Error likes to pose for Ink, like when they need a model for a project or just to practice anatomy or smth. She likes the fact she's kinda Ink's center of attention when they do that.

They both have terrible memories so when they're mad at eachother they don't stay mad for very long and forget what the problem was in the first place. Which confuses people since they were literally trying to kill eachother ten minutes ago and now they're hanging out like nothing happened.

Ink REALLY likes Error's puppets. They like all forms of art, including Error's weird creepy ones (this includes her love/hate relationship with the phrase live laugh love from a different post of mine). They tend to tease her that she's actually an artist for making them, which she gets very flustered about. They think the one she made of them is super cute (even if Error uses it as a stressball when she's mad at them)

They're not really yapper x listener, they're yapper x yapper. Neither of them will shut up to the other and they don't really care they're not listening.

Ink does try to encourage Error to take more creative outlets for her... everything, rather than just tearing up universes. They aren't EVIL or a sadist or anything, they just don't care about how they get from point A to point B as long as point B is reached. What does it matter to them if they stop Error from fucking with their job by making her dependent on them and miserable, or by giving her other, more productive things to be doing, or even by killing her so long as she's not fucking with their job anymore? So yeah they bring her yarn and new patterns to try and different sized hooks and stuff and try to get her to crochet things that aren't her victims or the same red scarf over and over and over again. I consider Ink to be true neutral. Like they don't care about the how or the why so long as it benefits them.

Ink is the one making the hopecore videos of Error. Error doesn't know this. She does appreciate the hopecore videos though.

Ink would help Error check for hidden cameras in her showercurtain and does tend to entertain her somewhat delusional ramblings about the voices and the plague of locusts she says is coming any day now trust her.

They tried to kiss eachother once and both of them hated it (Error bc she hates being touched and Ink bc they're sex repulsed aroace). Never did that again.

Ink does really like more platonic kinds of physical affection like hugging or holding hands and stuff (unrelated but they seem like the kind of person to bite their friends to show affection idk) and is kinda bummed out that Error really doesn't.

The Wordgirl wiki is so funny because they can just straight up put headcanons in there, and no one would bat an eye, I guess. Like how was I convinced when I first got into the fandom that yes, we see a father and brother icons in Violet's family tree in "The ordinary extraordinary Botsfords," but where are they? Uhh, Wiki told me that they probably died in a car crash. Oh, okay, I believe it, JHKHFGJJSY. Why is that their first speculation? Not divorce or something? They changed it now but that was so funny. Also, Johnson's entire page is just speculation and headcanons, but they still want to pass that he's Violet's biological brother. Like as canon for some reason. And of course, the whole name thing. WHICH. I will admit it was so funny that I kinda adopted the headcanon that everyone calls him by his surname/last name, and maybe Joshua could be his first name (even though that wasn't him in that favorite word segment), but it's pronounced actually Dzhoshua or something. But I don't get the because his sur name is Johnson, then he's gotta be related to the news anchor lady.

i wanna sayyy camisole tops augh and when one of the straps falls down and the way his eyes immediately go to it to help you move it back and his tender touch whilst he does it… applies to loose bra straps too. the whole time he's thinking about your exposed skin it's such a little strap but it makes him feel some kind of way. i also imagine like if you're talking to him whilst he's sitting on the couch and you're standing in front of him, he'll pull you in by your clothes and play with them absentmindedly in his hands. like if you're wearing a frilly skirt or a long cardigan he'll fiddle with the edges of it whilst listening to you <33

also similar to hiori with hair accessories but in a more functional way. like clipping it up to expose the nape of your neck, clipping back your bangs. i think he'd massage the area too for you if you're working and you seem tense <3 moves you from your desk to the bed because he "wants to do it properly" for you, kisses you on the shoulder before rubbing into you.

sometimes it starts to devolve into something more… especially if he starts to hear all the sounds you make about how good it feels. presses a hand into your calf and moves up your leg, kissing up your spine to between your shoulder blades. he just wants to make you feel good and relaxed in every way

Being in a romantic relationship with the Sin of Lust isn't always a walk in the park. Your relationship is subject to public scrutiny, and the scorn of other high ranking demon royalty. Asmodeus, though, couldn't care less.

If you’re comfortable with the relationship being public, Asmodeus will be shameless. Is it any surprise that he's a big fan of PDA?

However, if your relationship is kept private, expect Asmodeus to make up for lost time when you're behind closed doors.

Oz's schedule is almost always filled, and he often feels overwhelmed by the responsibilities and expectations that come with being a Sin. As much as he takes care of you, the energy should be reciprocated (to the best of your ability)

Asmodeus is a big believer in communication and consent. This translates into near-constant check-ins, whether it's in an intimate setting or not.

As attentive as he is, Asmodeus can be a bit overbearing. Often goes overboard in trying to take care of you, and sometimes it can be difficult to tell him you're indeed capable of taking care of yourself every once in a while.

🪩 Let's all assume MK allowed Party!MK, Party or DJ for short, to roam around as long as he doesn't fucking hold people hostage again. Because of this, Party was able to meet you at the arcade.

🪩 After the whole song and dance of 'does he/she want me or not?' the two of you got together after making out in a janitor closet at the arcade. 

🪩Did he make the first move or you? Surprisingly, you did. Granted with a little help of liquid courage, you managed to grab his attention enough to step away from his equipment and dance with you. 

🪩 The relationship was definitely in it's honeymoon phase for a while, the two of you being somewhat awkward around the other until y'all grew comfortable enough to the point you two became the couple that others would cringe at whenever they did PDA. 

🪩Dates? 99% at the arcade, 1% at some burger joint.

🪩Nicknames? He's a clone of MK, ofc he'll use some cringy ass nicknames; angelcakes, babygirl, sweetcheeks, and ofc, apple butter biscuit. You'll entertain his theme of nicknames and call him stud, big daddy, hot stuff, and your personal favorite–boytoy (he doesn't like this one as much). 

🪩Gifts? Expensive shit for his little apple cinnamon biscuit, even if it's tacky large gold chains or faux fur coats to match his own, he'll splurge on you from money he made from DJ-ing.

🪩First Kiss? Within ten minutes of dancing with each other, you two took the 'party' to a janitor's closet and kissed there. 

🪩How he would be with a partner: Definitely possessive to an obnoxious degree, not the edgy cool bad boy way, but more of a 'will slap your butt and force you in his lap to make out' if someone even thinks about putting the moves on you. He'll encourage you to come out of your shell and try out new things the arcade is trying to promote to others—alcohol, desserts, junk food, etc. 

🪩 You don't mind the extra attention from him, but sometimes you get tired of the random bursts of love bombing especially after he ghosted you a few times in favor of preparing for another bash at the arcade. 

🪩 Any complaints go out the window the moment he hits you with 'Aren't cha having fun though?' 

🪩 Ghosting aside, I think Party would try to be a good bf on the surface before convincing his partner to go with the flow of how 'busy' he is and convince them his top priorities aren't always going to be you. 

🪩 How he acts around them vs others: Party can be dismissive and not romantic at times, but his love language is physical touch and he'll have his hands on you regardless if you're in public or not. 

🪩 However, without the prying eyes of others, he's still his 'wild animal' self but toned down a bit—teasing you here and there, cuddling, and maybe allowing you to drag him on another shopping spree around the city. 

🪩Around others, his main priority will always be to keep the party going so you're invisible until he needs you. Whether that's to sit on his lap, display an image of 'power couple' to others, or be a dancing partner to hype up the rest of the patrons in the arcade.

The hand on your waist slipped past the waistband of your skirt and gripped the round of your backside, giving your cheek a few squeezes before you felt two fingers attempt to travel lower. You swatted the shoulder of the man whose lap you were currently perched on. The aforementioned man snickered as his smirk grew. 

"Why are you gettin' shy all of a sudden, angel cakes?" Party's pink shutter glasses slipped down the bridge of his nose enough to reveal his raised brow. You furrowed your brow and looked off to the side. The blinking multicolored lights shining down on the many bodies, either floating or moving their bodies along to the beat, gave you more than enough excuses to not answer him. 

Party stared at your side profile for a moment, his eyes almost rolling to the back of his head before he pushed his glasses back against his face and rose from his 'throne' with you in his arms. You squeaked at the abrupt movement and clung to him, your head whipping around with a questioning expression on your face. 

Party's wide grin revealed his sharp fangs as he exclaimed, "I know! You're getting bored! If you wanna dance-" 

"Baby, wait-!" You were raised above Party's head and couldn't latch onto him as he did. 

"-LET'S DANCE!" Party shouted as he chucked you over his equipment and jumped off of the perch to join you. 

Cue the montage of the two of you twirling around the arcade's dance floor. Passing the initial fright of being thrown off of a high place, the anti-gravity calmed the cardiac arrest brewing in your chest.

You felt dizzy as Party dipped you for the nth time before raising you to spin around him. When your back hit his chest, a pair of hands greedily clutching your hips to grind them against his own. 

Party's face halfway buried against your neck, you felt overwhelmed. Party must've noticed how tense you were because you heard a sigh from behind, and then you were pulled along to the bar in one of the corners. You were placed on a stool, and not long after, a drink slid in front of you. You squinted at the brightly colored liquid before glancing at your boyfriend who wiped the sweat off his brow. 

"Whew, I'll let ya have a break before we move onto the climax of this show! Don't forget to rest your pretty muscles, sweet cheeks cuz I'm not done with you yet," Party smooched your cheek before dashing back to his equipment. 

You watched him run off, exhaling as you dropped your face into your hand, and pushed the drink away from you. The thought of drinking your feelings anyway tonight didn't sit well with you.

gonna elaborate on one of the steps from this post of mine about my ideal narilamb dynamic bcus i want to talk about them jfdklasjkfds so go check that out for context

but the idea (which i'm going to put under a cut bcus i love to Talk)

i'm thinking this is like, partway through their decade-ish phase where they're going from "mutual bitter betrayal" to "on friendly terms again," and the lamb is charged with re-killing and subsequently indoctrinating the bishops. which like... is gonna stir up a Lot of feelings (i also hc, in this case, that the bishop situation doesn't come up for at least a few years after the lamb initially defeats narinder, hence being in the mid phase) bcus the lamb thought they were striking down the bishops responsible for the horrors they've faced the first time, and now some asshole in a cloak is telling them they didn't do it right. plus narinder thought he was free of his siblings and ever having to confront the feelings he has about them but now they're going to be Here and he can't Hide Forever bcus he's far enough into healing that the lamb would be sad if he regressed back into isolation (and also he's been getting more involved with the day-to-day cult stuff and him disappearing would cause Issues)

(also. tbh i think narinder starts falling back in love first, bcus i feel like he spent so long stuffing down his feelings that now that he has a body that can Feel Emotions Physically he has a harder time ignoring them. not that he'd bring that up at this point but like, he's in a weird love/hate/desire for healing cycle with the lamb that they are Vaguely aware of but don't want to push bcus their own feelings on the matter are just as complicated and they Do Not want to address those)

so the lamb gets this mission to kill leshy again and take him in. they kind of talk to narinder about it but don't bring up all the details bcus they're not sure what they're going to do about leshy once he's in the cult, and they don't Necessarily trust narinder's first reaction to seeing his baby brother again, nor do they trust leshy to be around narinder for at Least a week or two, possibly longer. so narinder just knows the basics of the plan, and then the lamb fucking Disappears for a bit to get this done. narinder is stewing in his feelings while he runs the cult with the lamb's other disciples and he's not having a Great time. one may even accurately accuse him of having a Bad time. no one is going to bcus fuck if anyone is going to bring up that he seems to be in a bad mood more often these days.

the lamb comes back with leshy. narinder is Not a fan of this choice but it's not like he had any way of denying it, bcus the lamb Has to do something about the bishops or shit is gonna get bad, and even if he wishes they would just kill him, the lamb isn't exactly known for that (their tendency toward second chances, after all, is the only reason he's going through this). the lamb keeps them apart for a while until leshy settles in and it's clear he's not in any immediate danger of dissenting, at the very least. narinder still kind of avoids him bcus he's pissed off that leshy was involved in imprisoning him and he's afraid that leshy is upset with him about tearing out his eyes (he is, but he's not about to have that argument without back up).

and narinder and the lamb have managed to go a little while without arguing about anything big, bcus they're both trying to work on that (and the arguments are never Actually what they're about so it's not like they were getting anywhere), but narinder is so on edge about leshy that he snaps at the lamb and they snap back bcus they're on edge about heket and this mysterious cloaked figure (which narinder can Kind of see but not yet communicate with, for other reasons i have hcs for about his return to divinity and will maybe one day elaborate on separately). they get into a shouting match about the lamb's choices about what to do about the bishops and how much of those choices are actually in their control and how much each of them is upset about these developments and how much narinder does Not want to see his other three siblings again, and really it's about narinder feeling left out of the thought processes and the lamb feeling like they can't trust him to be involved and therefore having no one to turn to bcus it's not like they can address these issues with their regular ass mortal disciples and also both of them are heavily traumatized by the bishops and don't want to acknowledge said trauma. it's messy and loud and they both walk away pissed

but the important thing is after they walk away from said argument they both feel guilty about it. and they've always felt Bad walking away from shouting matches and they've occasionally felt a Little guilty about big arguments but this is the first time they've both been like "fuck, maybe we could have talked that out instead of yelling" so they regroup and apologize for parts of it and kind of talk about other parts (they're still not Completely there, to be clear, we're still in the "figuring out wtf is happening between us" phase) and the lamb lets narinder in more on their plans for heket and asks for his advice on dealing with her after she's brought into the cult and about how much he wants to be involved. which starts the ball rolling faster on them starting to make up bcus now they're on more equal footing and narinder feels less like he's being blocked from the important parts and the lamb feels less isolated in the process of dealing with the people responsible for so much of the pain in their life

and if like.......... narinder has a few dreams that he dwells on for a while or stares at the lamb too intensely during sermons. well that's his business. the lamb definitely doesn't think about him while they run solo crusades or while they're alone in the evenings, wandering around and helping out the night crew with the occasional tasks, not if you asked them

(there's also a decent amount of timespan involved with this, but that's not as important jfkldsajdf in my head this takes place over the course of about four months, from the mysterious seller appearing to them starting discussions about heket, with bringing in all four bishops taking about a year and a half total, potentially closer to two years depending on narinder's reactions to heket and kallamar and the seasons' effects on the lamb)

⭐ This little block universe exists in two parts:

A physical-plane (all the physical things you can touch and feel) and a code-plane, colloquially "the code" (the supportive structures that guide and direct the happenings on the physical-plane; in-universe it's often visualized as an network of threads spanning, connecting, and crossing infinitely).

Worlds are aggregations of physical and code-planes close together to form "reality", sort of like a zipper. Servers are the shared form of these worlds.

They are oriented in space in loosely grouped "thread-lines" with related worlds (being made by the same creator, for the same series, etc) organized from first to latest. This means that it's easier to travel vertically through worlds (within the same threads/series) than horizontally (between two different threads/series).

⭐ Players are a type of being that exist both in the physical-plane and code-plane of the universe. They are created when a being that exists solely on the physical plane "cracks" (basically the being dies and in their place something emerges in the code-plane).

Players are defined by their ability to alter the code-plane (i.e. coding); importantly condensing particles from the wider universe into worlds. This skill is mostly instinctive but can be developed further with research and practice.

How and what this looks like varies widely between players and is often flavored depending on favorite hobbies and motifs.

For example, to Xisuma, altering the code is analogous to actual computer coding. To Grian, it's similar to weaving or untangling a particularly confusing ball of yarn. To Scott, it's a set of harmonies between notes on an infinite song, and to Doc, it's a series of ever-blinking switches and dials. There's a lot of possibilities!

⭐ Players TECHNICALLY exist only on the code-plane as sort of a metaphysical blob of sentience. However, their innate coding ability allows them to exist in worlds on the physical-plane. They do this by splitting off pieces called "clippings" or "fragments" (term varies by region and upbringing and honestly how nice you wanna be about it), from their metaphysical self to act as vessels for physical experience.

These clippings can be modeled physically and mentally to fit a purpose either as 1-to-1 vessels to hang out with others or as characters for roleplay/storytelling purposes (that's right, I've made every smp canon all at the same time).

Through their clippings, players can look like whatever they want but generally, tend to make themselves look like what they did in their old pre-player lives as that is at least familiar.

In addition, players can choose how much "sentience" each clipping receives (used in-universe in reference to a player's awareness of what they are, alongside associated memories of their existence outside a set world). Usually roleplay-based servers remove or alter memories for immersion purposes which is consensual on the player's end (and not so much on the clipping's end just for some added drama there).

(Overall separation between player and clipping is really muddy, which leads to lots of complications.)

Using Grian as an example, his Hermitcraft clipping is an almost 1-to-1 of his player self and is fully self-aware of his existence as a clipping (though fully accepting is a whole another thing). His Life Series clipping(s), however, are meant for roleplay and have been altered (clumsily) to be completely unaware of any of the more metaphysical parts of their existence. There is always a degree of separation present between the player and their clippings (and clippings are nebulously their own people), but how much really does vary by situation.

⭐ As far as server admins go, they aren't really that more powerful or capable than the average player. Admin is just the title for players who maintain server spaces for others. This can go as little as just being the guy that tidies up the world's loose bits every once in a while to basically being the "lifeguard" in the world's most immersive LARP session.

Typically, players will enter contracts with admins (this is especially true on roleplay servers), giving away some code agency in exchange for the admin's care. This can be as light as giving admins permission to teleport players during emergencies to full control on memories, pain limits, available foods, etc.

Any player can become an admin, the only barrier for entry is wanting to learn how to do it. That being said, keeping a server safety, operational, and fun does require a good grasp of coding (which can either be learned through study or intrinsic skill).

⭐ About Third and Secret's survival: I can't say much since that is highly plot relevant to the fic I want to write someday.

But as a teaser: Grian is a very instinctive coder and learned to do it without a lot of technical instructions, something he failed to account for in his own clipping.

⭐ Some misc. lore tidbits that I can't really fit but I think you'd enjoy!

⭐ In the process of "cracking", newborn players consume the worlds they were born in for their universe particles as part of their development. Players then create new worlds to play and interact on, which, when abandoned, become cradles for the next generation of players to be born in. This serves a dual purpose of killing off the physical connection to the player's old life and as a way to keep the universe's components cycling through states of stagnation (worlds) and free flow (universe particles). ⭐ Clippings often don't look exactly like each other. Every version of a player is always a little different because, to them, physical composition is very much something you can just change on a whim. Of course, this does account for lots of cases of unsettling doppelgangers. ⭐ A common rite of passage for young players is the creation of your first physical-plane "skin". It involves a lot of deliberation on who and what you want to be. There are many player-developed resources dedicated specifically to customizing yourself. Hybrid forms are extremely popular. ⭐ Avian-form bodies are considered a complex form to pull off, requiring some sort of innate talent or study into anatomical AND spatial "tuning" on the physical plane (as powered flight is a hard thing to balance correctly). Flying for most players is often short-cut by using the wind-magic found in elytra cores to stabilize movement in air. So making yourself a bird is seen as a hard but rewarding way to earn flight (and it's def not for everyone). ⭐ Modding and data packs are commodities; often, they are pre-packaged code-plane alterations or guidelines that let other players experience this cool thing you've just made. Some servers specialize in producing these, along with other specialty goods like furniture, ingredients, games. ⭐ Speaking of food, there are different types! Craft-food is built purely from the code-plane. It is easy to make from a template, accessible, nutritionally balanced, but not that tasty. Cooked-food is made from the physical-plane, which is more tasty and overall better for mental health, but that, like irl cooking, takes skill. Complex dishes are difficult to replicate from code-plane only, but not impossible (Xisuma has tried, Impulse has succeeded). ⭐ All players claim to have heard a "song" during their birth into playerhood, which guided them instinctively on what to do next. It starts off as a tune, then clarifies over time, as the player grows, into words. It's referred to in-universe as "the cradle song" and is often used as a measure of how far along a player has grown (since the age that a being initially "cracks" is not a set variable). We know it as the end poem :)
